From August 15-17, 2024, government and private sectors jointly hosted the grand event, SustainAsia Week 2024, under the theme “Low Carbon & Sustainable ASEAN Economy.” This event featured exhibitions showcasing cutting-edge energy technologies and innovations, alongside international academic conferences that focused on key trends in clean energy and environmentally-friendly practices. The aim was to propel Thailand toward achieving its Net Zero goal and facilitating a sustainable energy transition.
Professor Dr. Pisuth Peernmongkol, Chair of SustainAsia Week 2024 and SETA 2024, emphasized the challenges faced by the energy industry in reducing carbon dioxide emissions during production processes. He highlighted the importance of transitioning to clean energy that aligns with global sustainability goals. Renewable energy sources and carbon capture technologies are gaining increasing global attention and becoming essential tools in this effort.
The event also featured exhibitions related to renewable energy, seminars, and workshops designed to enhance knowledge on Zero Carbon and sustainability. It provided a platform for stakeholders interested in Carbon Credit to engage with experts, explore global carbon credit measurement and certification standards, and develop systems for auditing and certifying circular economy management practices. This initiative aims to promote the circular economy policy for sustainable development.
